Ex-Liverpool star Collymore sees West Brom boss Clarke making Chelsea move

Former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore sees West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke eventually moving to Chelsea.

Collymore wrote in the People: "Steve Clarke will start being tipped for a big job if he carries on in this manner at West Brom.

"He's built on the foundations that were laid by Roberto Di Matteo and Roy Hodgson and taken the club to a new level.

"They have a great squad, largely with players aged between 25-30 who are in their prime. I reckon Clarke has an eye on a European finish, even if he won't admit it yet.

"He learned his trade as a No2 but - just like Chris Hughton - he has managed to rise to the challenge of being the main man very well.

"I bet he has a great contacts book too because of the people he has worked with in the past. So who knows what the future will hold for him?

"At Chelsea he became a very influential figure and at the rate they get through managers you would not rule out his arrival at Stamford Bridge as their new boss sometime in the new few years."
