Former Liverpool assistant boss Pako Ayesteran is set to return to Spain.

Ayesteran has been on 'gardening leave' from Liverpool since falling out with manager Rafa Benitez earlier this season.

DiarioSport says Barcelona sports chief Txiki Begiristain has held talks with Ayesteran about moving to the Nou Camp as the club's new fitness coach.

Valencia coach Ronald Koeman is also interested, as the Dutchman hasn't appointed a fitness trainer since his arrival a fortnight ago.
