Melbourne Victory new boy Harry Kewell says he is expecting a 'rough' A-League debut on Saturday night.
The former Liverpool, Leeds United and Galatasaray attacker and his Victory teammates are preparing for the visit of arch rivals Sydney FC in the A-League season opener at Etihad Stadium and Kewell feels it could be a fairly difficult encounter first up.
"Hopefully tough, rough, that's what I'm expecting," said Kewell.
"I'm looking forward to it. I don't expect anything less than that. If I don't get that, I'm going to punish them."
Kewell also admitted that there were no nerves ahead of his much-anticipated clash with Socceroos teammate Brett Emerton's Sky Blues as he is simply preparing to do his job on the football pitch.
"I've never once been afraid to play football," Kewell added. "Even when things are going bad I've always found myself at home on the pitch.
"There's no nervousness, more exciting energy. It's a great feeling to go out there on your debut, but the important thing is just to crack on with your job, really.
"That's what I've always done ever since I played for Leeds, Liverpool and Galatasaray."
