James turns out for Bournemouth against Walsall today — 22 years after his league debut.
Former England keeper James, 42, yesterday signed for the League One side until the end of the season.
He had been without a club since being released by Bristol City in May.
Cherries boss Paul Groves said: “David brings professionalism, experience, competition and is a fantastic person to have around.
“I worked with him at Portsmouth and knew what he could bring to the party.”
