Former Liverpool junior Alex Whittle is hoping to launch a senior career in Spain.
The 17-year-old, a former England youth international, was released by the Reds' Academy at the turn of the year but is now determined to kick-start his career at the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Jerez.
"It all came about after I found out Liverpool were letting me go," Whittle told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"Clive Cook and Phil Roscoe from the Academy were really good with me. Phil told me about the Glenn Hoddle Academy (GHA) and helped to arrange a trial.
"After that I got a phone call off Neil Duncanson who works for GHA.
"He said they wanted me to come over as soon as possible. So I had one last day of training and said goodbye to all of the lads. It was sad to leave because I still have some good friends there and there was always great banter flying about."
