Former Liverpool fullback Jan Kromkamp has announced his retirement.

The 32 year-old has decided to hang up the boots after failing to overcome persistent injuries while with Go Ahead Eagles last season.

Kromkamp is now expected to take up a coaching role at Go Ahead Eagles.

"I have experienced many highlights. I have played with the Dutch team, twice became champion with PSV, won the FA Cup with Liverpool and experienced promotion with the club where it all began for me," declared Kromkamp.
