Former Liverpool fullback Andrea Dossena admits he is enjoying life at Napoli.

The 28-year-old left-back joined Napoli in a €4.5m transfer from English Premier League outfit Liverpool after a long courtship.

"Napoli is incomparable. There is a unique passion here. When I first arrived I almost didn't manage to get used to the support.

"The people have only one great love, and one thought fixed in their heads: Napoli. The idea of being able to make our fans happy is the greatest motivation to dream big.

"At San Paolo I feel the breath of the fans on my neck. It's a thrill that gives you an enormous boost. I think that it will always be difficult for an opponent to come away from this stadium with any points."

Asked about his form, Dossena said: "I feel good. I don't know if I can say what percentage I am athletically, but aside from that I feel ready. I have worked a lot and well in the last few weeks. The head is already in the Coach's schemes.

"Gradually I will get in top form and I believe I am now on the right path. The atmosphere has been great. I improve day after day. I am a perfectionist and when I go on the pitch I would like to be able to give 120 per cent."
