Ex-Liverpool, Everton defender Xavier slams Gullit

Former Liverpool and Everton defender Abel Xavier has launched a bitter attack on his LA Galaxy coach Ruud Gullit.

Ex-Portugal defender Xavier was bombed out of the MLS side to make way for new signing Eduardo Dominguez.

Xavier, 35, counts David Beckham as a close pal - but says former Chelsea manager Gullit forced him out of the California club. Xavier fumed: "He used language that was not normal and he was very arrogant.

"He was a great player but he is not a great coach. I demand respect.

"Gullit had similar problems when he was at Chelsea and all the players at Galaxy have the same opinion."

Dutchman Gullit had claimed Xavier was a "bad apple".
