Former Liverpool and Leeds United defender Dominic Matteo is favourite for the manager's job at Elland Road.
The Daily Express says Matteo, 38, played more than 100 times for Leeds and was a pivotal figure in the club's run to the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2001.
He was installed as a 100-1 shot by bookmakers to become the boss after Neil Warnock stepped down last week - but he is now as short as 6-1.
