Former Liverpool coach Michael Beale admits Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves has a big fan inside Anfield.

Beale, who used to be Liverpool's U23s manager, revealed that first-team coach Pep Lijnders is a huge fan of the Portuguese midfielder.

Lijnders worked with Neves at Porto was, according to Beale, hugely impressed by the midfielder.

Beale, who now works with Steven Gerrard at Rangers, said: "Ruben Neves passing has been superb today (against Leicester). Taking over from Fabregas as the midfielder in the PL that looks for his forwards at every opportunity.

"Pepijn Lijnders has been telling me about him for 4-5yrs after working with him at Porto. He wasn't wrong!! He is a top player!"
