Ex-Liverpool chief scout Macia in Leicester talks for top job

Former Liverpool chief scout Eduardo Macia is in talks with champions Leicester City.

The Leicester Mercury says the Foxes are considering former Valencia player and sporting director Macia to head up the club's recruitment department.

City have not filled the vacancy left by Steve Walsh's departure to Everton to become the director of football at Goodison Park and it is understood Macia is a contender.

The 42-year-old Spaniard has also worked as chief scout for Liverpool as well as serving as a technical director in Italy at Fiorentina, Olympiacos in Greece.

Macia has links with City boss Claudio Ranieri having worked with him briefly at Valencia before he left to join Liverpool.
