Former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier is delighted seeing Steven Gerrard as England captain.

Houllier will always have a soft spot for the man he made captain at Liverpool.

"Steven's range of passing will make France wary. He has been playing deeper and in a more disciplined role, which is another example of sacrificing himself for the team. It was a good move to make him captain," said Houllier.
