Roy Hodgson has turned down an approach from West Bromwich Albion.

The former Liverpool and Fulham boss fielded interest from the Baggies this week.

The Daily Mail says Hodgson was the man the Midlands club wanted to take over from Roberto di Matteo, but the veteran coach has decided it is too soon for him to return following his troubled spell at Liverpool.

The ex-Inter Milan chief is hoping for alternative offers in the summer following his chastening Anfield experience.
