Former Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is backing his old No2 Steve Clarke to take the job at West Bromwich Albion.
In his column for the Mirror, Dalglish wrote: "It would be a great move for him and for the club. It would be the perfect place for him to start out as boss, because of the stability of the club.
"In some ways, the job there is a head coaching position, and it would allow him to continue with something which he does brilliantly.
"At the same time, he could ease himself gently into the role of managing a football club.
"I'm glad he is being considered.
"He would be an asset to any club."
