Ex-Liverpool boss Benitez hopes for chance to speak with Sunderland

Rafa Benitez hopes for the chance to interview for the Sunderland job.

Martin O'Neill has already had talks about succeeding Steve Bruce on Wearside, though terms are yet to be agreed, says The Sun.

Former Liverpool and Inter Milan boss Benitez, 51, would also love the chance to replace Bruce but is way down the pecking order.
