Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is delighted for Mauricio Pellegrino over his appointment as Valencia coach.

The former Reds defender also worked as an assistant coach to Benitez at Anfield and Inter Milan.

"I see him doing very well. Mauricio was a very important player for us, he joined Liverpool to transmit tactical concepts experienced in Valencia.

"He received the opportunity in Valencia and its an excellent opportunity to demonstrate his quality as a coach. He has potential and also great experience working with the press and fans."
