Ex-Liverpool, Arsenal youth Banton excited about MLS chance with Seattle Sounders

Jason Banton is looking to take his MLS opportunity after being taken in the recent Supplemental Draft by Seattle Sounders.

The 19-year old English winger, who had had stints with Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers youth academies before signing with Liverpool last January, has now arrived in Seattle to start training with his new club and is excited about getting started.

Banton admits it is a bit of a weird path to take to get to the top compared with what his friends back home in England have chosen but nonetheless he is planning to take his MLS chance.

"There is quite a buzz. A few of my mates were asking how I did it, because a lot of people try to get to MLS, but they usually have to go through college. A few of my mates did ask, but they're really happy for me," he said in an interview with the Seattle Times.

"There are a few that (told) me they want to come out here, so don't be surprised to see a few English lads come over.

"I was just looking to go straight to MLS, so when given the opportunity, I took it."
