Ex-Lens, Hull striker Cousin could still become Rangers player

Daniel Cousin's proposed return to Rangers could still go ahead despite the club's current administration situation.

The Gabon international striker signed with 'Gers earlier this week but the paperwork was not submitted prior to the Glasgow giants falling into administration.

The has halted the move for Cousin, who has had a previous stint at Ibrox, but both the player and his agent are remaining cool regarding the potential contract.

"Of course I am not happy about the news but I have spoken with the directors who have told me to stay calm," the former Le Mans, Lens and Hull City striker said.

"Hopefully, there will be a solution in the next two weeks. If Rangers could not pay me, it would be the worst case scenario."

Cousin's agent Willie McKay added: "This has nothing to do with Daniel or myself. He signed for the club in good faith and we were not made aware of any problems.

"If Rangers have made some kind of administrative error then that is their problem. I would like to think they can sort it out."
