Gary Linekar has blasted the Thai owners of Leicester City after they sacked manager Craig Shakespeare who was only appointed by the club on a full time basis four months ago.
Leicester boss Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha made the decision to part ways with Shakespeare after the club won just one of their eight Premier League games thus far. They currently occupy 18th position on the League standings with just six points.
Former assistant boss Shakespeare was appointed on a full-time basis following the sacking of Claudio Ranieri February. Ranieri's sacking was controversial given that he shockingly led the Foxes to the Premier League title during the previous season.
Linekar took to Twitter to blast the Leicester owners for having sacked Shakespeare. He then jokingly stated that the club should consider re-signing Ranieri as manager.
Former Blackburn and Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton has been placed in temporary charge of the Foxes while Alan Pardew has been linked with a full-time appointment as manager.
Craig Shakespeare sacked by Leicester. Bring back Claudio.
