The Republic of Ireland internationalist spent five months on loan at Pittodrie after falling out of favour at Leicester City last season. He was released in the summer and made it clear he had his hea rt set on a return to England.
However, despite a trial with Bristol City, no deal has materialised for the 30-year-old and he admitted he would be keen on making the move back to Pittodrie.
"I wouldn't knock Aberdeen completely on the head and say I wouldn't think about coming back," said Maybury.
"We're waiting to hear back from a few clubs and my situation should be clearer by the end of the week. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Aberdeen, but I'm not sure if Jimmy Calderwood is still interested.
"They wanted a definite answer during the summer and I was waiting on word back from a number of different things, so I decided to hold off.
"But if Aberdeen did come back in for me, it's something I would seriously consider."
