Ex-Leeds Utd boss set for Arsenal scouting role

Brian McDermott is on the verge of signing a deal with Arsenal according to reports.

The former Leeds United and Reading manager will take up a three-year role with the Gunners to become part of the north London club's scouting team.

53-year old McDermott, who played with Arsenal between 1979 and 1984, will work under chief scout Steve Rowley and is expected to play key role in recruitment.

It is believed that McDermott's role, which comes after he was sacked by Leeds in late January, will become official in the next week or so.
