Ex-Leeds United ace Yeboah admits to having fake DOB on passport

Former Leeds United, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hamburg star Tony Yeboah has admitted to holding a fake passport upon his arrival in Germany.

The ex-Ghana international arrived at FC Saarbrucken from his homeland in 1988 and has revealed that he did have his date of birth changed when back home so he could play senior football as a teenager.

"Of course, this is a fishy subject," he told Kicker magazine.

"When I first came to Germany, I owned a passport with a birth year of 1964.

"The truth is that I would not have been able to play senior football in Ghana aged 17, so my birth year was then changed to 1964.

"Afterwards, when I was in the German Bundesliga, I was to have my right birthdate in my passport. I was born in 1966."
