Former Leeds United striker Michael Bridges has signed a new deal with the Newcastle Jets.
The 31-year old Englishman has put pen to a two-year deal with the club he joined in September after impressing with recent performances.
The Jets were keen to tie up the deal and Bridges' two-goal effort against Sydney FC on the weekend vindicated their decision to put forward the fresh contract.
Newcastle will now try and secure the services of two other key players, Italian midfielder and marquee man Fabio Vignaroli and central defender Ljubo Milicevic.
