Mike Grella trained with New York Red Bulls on Tuesday but the club has not made comment on whether or not they will be signing him.
The 26-year old New York native is a free agent after finishing up with English club Scunthorpe United earlier this summer.
Grella, who left the US for the UK in 2008, has also played with Leeds United, Carlisle United, Swindon Town, Brentford and Bury.
