Lee Bowyer will depart Ipswich Town at the end of the season after the club opted not to offer him a contract extension.
The 35-year old midfielder has been at Portman Road since last summer, making 29 appearances this term, but will be on the hunt for a new club come season's end according to manager Paul Jewell.
"He has been great around the place, especially with the young lads. He has a good career ahead of him coaching as he has terrific knowledge and he is a real good guy and good role model for young players.
"Whatever he does, he wants to win. He wants to continue playing. I am sure there won't be a shortage of takers for him.
"He goes with our best wishes, but we are going down a bit of a younger route.""He is a terrific lad and a terrific pro," said Jewell.
