Joe Jordan admits it is nice to have his name linked with the Scotland managerial vacancy.
The job is now up for grabs after Craig Levein was sacked yesterday with former Bristol City, Heart of Midlothian and Stoke City boss Jordan one of a few men to be in the running for the role.
Ex-Leeds United and Manchester United forward Jordan, who most recently acted as Harry Redknapp's assistant at Tottenham last season, has welcomed the link and suggested he was extremely proud simply to be mentioned in the same breath as the Scotland job.
"I know there will be a lot of names, a lot of speculation," said Jordan.
"I am Scottish, I'm a proud Scotsman and a person that wants to work - for my name to be mentioned, yes, it's nice to be linked with the national job."
