Ex-Leeds, Liverpool ace Kewell: A-League better than I thought

Harry Kewell has made the admission that the A-League is a much better competition that he expected.

The former Leeds United, Liverpool and Galatasaray attacker spent the 2011/12 A-League season with Melbourne Victory and has admitted to going in with a different view to what actually occurred out on the pitch.

"When I was speaking to a lot of players about going back (to the A-league) they were saying 'it's easy' and this, that and the other," Kewell told The World Game.

"But I've found it to be the complete opposite. I found it fast, I found it furious. The strength was there, the power was there.

"It was different to everything people had told me it was. It's a tough little league and I want to be able to correct what we (Victory) didn't achieve this year."

Kewell, who is still to agree to a second season with the Victory, is currently on Muscat preparing with the Australian national team for today's 2014 World Cup qualifier against Oman.
