Former Leeds United and Crystal Palace winger Leandre Griffit is set to make his MLS debut with Columbus Crew when the league recommences after the World Cup.
The 26-year old Frenchman signed with the Crew in May but is yet to start a match because head coach Robert Warzycha wanted him fully fit.
But he has been earmarked for a June 26 debut against DC United which he is pushing hard for.
"I've got the next two weeks to prepare for the game against DC," Griffit said. "This is good. I need to play, I need to prove to the coach I can play. I hope I can play soon."
