Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij could succeed in England, claims a former teammate.
Utrecht veteran Edson Braafheid played with De Vrij at Lazio and isn't surprised by big transfer interest.
Liverpool and Everton are keen on the Dutchman, who is off contract in June and still to settle on new terms.
"Stefan is a beast. He is not even at his top now. The errors he made in the Netherlands are completely out. Stefan can play soberly and has become one of the defining players with Lazio," said Braafheid to Fox Sports. "He is certainly ready for a step up.
"Stefan would not be out of place in England, because he is very strong defensively. But Stefan is also very good at football, so there can be a place for him at Barcelona, Real Madrid or in Germany. At a football club there is always a place for Stefan."
