Ex-Kansas City coach Onalfo disappointed after missed play-offs chance

Former Kansas City Wizards coach Curt Onalfo was disappointed that the club narrowly missed out on qualifying for the play-offs this season.

Onalfo, who was fired by DC United this term, admitted that he thought the Wizards were set to make it to the finals after they defeated Houston Dynamo in September but things did not pan out for the club he guided to the 2007 play-offs.

"When they won that game, I thought they were going to make (the playoffs)," Onalfo told the Kansas City Star.

"I had a great time with the Wizards," Onalfo added. "I had some great, great memories. I think about some of those moments, like when we made the playoffs when Herculez scored that goal in the last minute. Those are some great memories."
