Former Kaiserslautern, Coventry City and Lillestrom striker Michael Mifsud is reportedly attracting interest from Chicago Fire.

The 29-year old Maltese national team captain, currently a free agent, has been in talks with the Fire according to the Times of Malta.

Mifsud was released after his contract with Maltese club Valletta expired at the end of the 2009/10 season and his only matches since May this year have been for Malta.

The Fire are currently in the market for a striker and are believed to be considering making a strong move for the man who made his name by being a prolific scorer for homeland club Sliema Wanderers.
