Fabrizio Ravanelli suggests that Alessandro Del Piero chose Sydney FC so he could experience a change in lifestyle.
The Juventus great signed a two-year deal with Sydney on Wednesday and his old teammate suggests he is looking forward to a new experience.
“I think it was a footballing decision, but also a lifestyle choice,” Ravanelli told Sportal.
“He wanted to experience a new way of life and Australia will offer him that.
“Language is always the biggest problem, but Alex speaks good English. I don’t see any problems.”
Ravanelli also said that Del Piero could not sign with another Serie A club as it would simply be too hard to leave Juve for a rival.
“He couldn’t stay in Italy, it was practically impossible,” continued the former Italian international. “He had to go out of respect for the Juventus fans.”
