Former Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli says Andrea Pirlo must accept he cannot play every game.

Pirlo was visibly upset after being hooked during victory over Hellas Verona.

Cobolli Gigli told TMW: "He should not feel threatened, I think we're protecting Andrea Pirlo. I hope that Juventus can get beyond the quarterfinals of the Champions League, he has 50 games in front of him and Pirlo cannot play them all.

"They are rotating him, just like with the others."
