Former Juventus captain Fabio Cannavaro feels hometown club Napoli can win the Scudetto.

However, he fears Napoli could be stretched thin by their Champions League commitments.

“It’s a great Napoli side that is growing constantly, so they intrigue me. The ‘problem’ with Napoli, if we can call it that, is the Champions League. I know what I’m talking about here, as that competition robs you of so much energy, both physical and psychological.

“Anyone who is not accustomed to it will suffer. If you find yourself on the pitch at the Allianz Arena or the Camp Nou, the adrenaline will shoot up naturally. If instead you find yourself facing Catania, then you have to fire yourself up and focus on nothing but Serie A.

“The Champions League is a fantastic adventure, but the Scudetto is the objective Napoli can achieve this season.”
