Ex-Juventus, Barcelona star Laudrup: Too early to talk about European power shift

Michael Laudrup feels it may be a little too early to start talking about a power shift in European football.

With Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund into the Champions League final for 2012/13 - getting the better of Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively in the semi-finals - many feel that German clubs are now all the rage.

But Swansea City boss Laudrup says perhaps this should be spoken about in a year to see what has happened to Spanish, German and English clubs over that period to get a better gauge.

"I know this is the year of the German sides and there are a lot of questions," the former Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid midfielder said.

"Is it the end of Spanish football dominating? Are English sides struggling? We have to look to next year for the answers.

"If Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are in the final in 12 months' time and there are no English sides in the quarter-finals then we might have a new trend."
