Ex-Inter president Moratti: We should be buying a striker

Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti feels they should be signing a striker before tonight's deadline.

Moratti is aware of Inter attempts to sign PSG midfielder Javier Pastore.

“Spalletti wants signings? Yes, but the Coach also needs to work with what he has and find solutions. That's what he's paid to do," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Pastore? Right now, I don't think it's a question of getting someone in, although I'd probably have signed an attacker.

“More than anything else, there's a willingness to see the team play well because Inter have good players. Spalletti said so too.

“Reasons for their slump? It's often the case that a team have problems after Christmas. I don't know, maybe it's really that simple.

“It seems to me that the team have problems with consistency, that at a certain point they stop playing, and it's clear that we must ensure it doesn't happen.

“Icardi? I don't think much can be said about him. He's the one that has scored more than anyone else.

“He's playing the role of captain with great pride. On balance, he's the one who does the most for the team."
