Ex-Inter Milan star Eto'o: World record Anzhi deal will inspire African youth

Former Inter Milan and Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o hopes his record move to Anzhi can inspire Africa's youth.

Eto'o says he is proud of his world record €20 million-a-year contract and believes it is a triumph for Africa.

The Cameroon icon declared: "African children may believe if I've achieved this, then so can they.

"I've shown that we have the means to do anything in this world.

"People are proud of my contract."

In addition to having a private jet, translator, driver and a security service, Eto'o revealed he was offered a helicopter - which he rejected.

The striker is happy to drive to the club's training ground like his teammates.

"I am a team player. You have to be like everyone else if you want to win with them."
