Ex-Inter Milan president Moratti hopeful of Icardi staying

Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is hopeful of Mauro Icardi staying.

The striker's wife and agent, Wanda, was in London yesterday and reportedly met with Arsenal.

“I think a lot will depend on what the lad wants," Moratti told FCInterNews.

“I hope that the club will make it so that they can keep him, because he's a great striker. So I'd keep him, but just if he's happy to wear the Nerazzurri colours."

Moratti was also asked about the Beneamata's transfer campaign, as well as their goals for the coming season.

“I think it's normal for there to be difficulties on the transfer market, because Financial Fair Play has stalled things, but I can calmly say that this squad is of the highest level.

“It has huge potential and is extremely reliable, there's no doubt about that.

“Our aims? Certainly the Champions League. Inter's calling is to be in the top three, that will be the goal."
