Former Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia has signed with Sampdoria.
The defender has joined on loan from Inter until the end of the season.
“This is a great group," Ranocchia told Samp TV.
“It's definitely worthy of a different position than the current one. I know a lot of the lads.
“I've already played with some of them, for example [Angelo] Palombo and [Emiliano] Viviano, and in recent days they bombarded me with phonecalls and couldn't wait for me to arrive in Genoa.
“Others I met with the national team and I hope to integrate quickly and make my contribution.
“I accepted Sampdoria's offer because of the enthusiasm of President Ferrero and the trust of Coach [Vincenzo] Montella.
“I'm glad to be here, I can't wait to get on the pitch and repay everyone's faith."
