Former Inter Milan and Sampdoria coach Roberto Mancini is being linked with the Japan job. Italian sources say Mancini is being lined up by the Japan FA to lead the national team to next year's World Cup in South Africa.
Takeshi Okada, who successfully led Japan through the qualifiers, would have to stand aside for Mancini.
