Ex-Hibernian boss expresses interest in Aberdeen post

Former Hibernian boss John Hughes is interested in the managerial vacancy at Aberdeen. Hughes, who was replaced by Colin Calderwood as Hibs boss in October, is eager to return to football and would be keen to take the Pittodrie hotseat made vacant when Mark McGhee left the Dons on Wednesday.

Hughes said in the Daily Record: "From day one after leaving Hibs, I have wanted to get back in football.

"If you look at my CV I've had success at both clubs I managed. I took Hibs into fourth place in the SPL and into Europe.

"I would be delighted to speak to Aberdeen, it's a great club with a great history. It's something I'd be interested in."
