Ex-Hearts, Sunderland keeper Gordon not about to call time on career

Retirement is not yet in the plans of goalkeeper Craig Gordon despite him not being with a club since last summer.

The former Heart of Midlothian gloveman was released by Sunderland at the end of last season because of a long-term knee injury but has been unable to find a new playing home, although he is coaching Dumbarton in Scotland's First Division.

Gordon says he is not ready to pull the pin on his playing days and will keep his options open regarding any potential deal that comes his way this summer.

"People can say what they like to say but I'll continue to try and rehabilitate my knee and get myself in the best possible state," he said.

"If that means I can get back to playing football then I'd be delighted.

"I've been round people in Europe and back home getting as many opinions as possible to find the one thing that will help."
