Ex-Hearts, Sunderland keeper Gordon intent on playing again

Craig Gordon insists he is ready to play football at the top level once again.

The 31-year old Scottish goalkeeper has been out of the game for two years after having complications following a serious knee injury sustained while with Sunderland in 2012.

Gordon is still the most expensive British keeper in history pertaining to his £9million move from Heart of Midlothian in 2007 and he is confident he can get back to his absolute best if given the chance.

"I feel I can take pride from the way I've worked hard to get back," Gordon told the Daily Record.

"The majority of people have probably written me off by now, the perception being I'll not be back.

"There will be others who'll say I might not return but I will get back to my best. I'm willing to prove all those people wrong."
