Ex-Hearts, Celtic midfielder Hartley: Levein is the right man for Scotland

Alloa manager Paul Hartley is confident that the Scotland national team has the right man for the job in Craig Levein.

Hartley's former Heart of Midlothian boss is under fire following his side's poor start to 2014 World Cup qualifying which has seen his job in question with a meeting involving Scottish Football Association hierarchy set to reveal his fate.

But Hartley is convinced that Levein is doing a good job with the Tartan Army and hopes the SFA keep him in his current role.

"I think we've got the right man in Craig," said Hartley.

"We can't chop and change managers every couple of years, we've got to give them more time to hopefully get the positive results.

"He'll see it as a building job here. We know we're not in a good position, you know that as a manager."

He added: "Players have to take some responsibility, it can't always be the manager's fault. I think as a team you have to take responsibility for the results."
