Clint Dempsey has been named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 5 of the 2014 season.
< The USA international scored a hat-trick as Seattle Sounders drew 4-4 with Portland Timbers at Providence Park on Saturday.
The former Fulham and Tottenham star struck in the 24th, 85th and 87th minutes of the eight-goal thriller, tying the match from the spot with his final goal.
Dempsey was voted for by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR), picking up 15 of a possible 21 votes, to land his first player of the week award since returning to MLS in August last year.
