Ex-Fulham striker Johnson heavily linked with Aberdeen

Former Fulham striker Eddie Johnson could be set to join Scottish Premier League outfit Aberdeen.

The 27-year old free agent was close to making a Major League Soccer return recently but could not agree a deal with the league's administrators and has now emerged as a target for Dons boss Craig Brown who is in desperate need of a goalscorer.

Brown did make it clear though that he could only sign Johnson on a short-term deal until January.

"If Eddie is prepared to sign a short-term deal there is a chance of us giving him something," Brown told the Evening Express.

"Agents often come on looking for two and three year contracts to get a bit of security for their players, but that won't be happening.

"I won't be giving that to anyone at this stage."
