Ex-Fulham, QPR boss Hughes hoping to rebuild his reputation at Stoke

Mark Hughes is hoping he can rebuild his reputation as a manager after being appointed as the new boss of Stoke City.

The former Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham and QPR boss is determined to produce a more successful outcome at the Britannia Stadium after failed tenures in the past.

"There's always that worry when you lose a position but I've always had faith in my ability to manage at this level," said the Welshman.

"I've had 270 to 280 games at this level, so I know what it's about. Obviously the last 12 games at the beginning of last season (with QPR) didn't help.

"That's the recent thing in people's minds and at the moment it seems people want to judge me on that period.

"I would just say to look a bit deeper than that and understand that, given the right support with the right people around me, then I can make teams successful and play well."
