The 29-year old USA international missed the Dynamo's back-to-back victories in 2006 and 2007 because of injury and suspension and is in doubt for the December 1 clash with the LA Galaxy with an adductor problem.

But Clark, who returned to Houston from German club Eintrach Frankfurt in July, is doing everything can to be fit and firing for the 2012 decider.

"Taking it slowly," Clark said when asked about his injury.

"It's been feeling better … so I'm just taking it day by day. I hate sitting in the training room and watching everybody train.

"It sucks, that's why today I came out here and did some workouts instead of being locked up inside."

With more than a week to recover from his 66 minutes in the Eastern Conference semi-final second leg on the weekend, the odds are with Clark to finally compete in his first MLS Cup final following his previous disappointments.
