James McFadden has returned to training with Motherwell ahead of the 2013/14 season.
The former Everton and Sunderland forward was back at Fir Park for the second part of last season, scoring five goals in 13 appearances, and is now on the verge of joining the Steelmen permanently.
McFadden is out of contract but the fact that he linked up with the Motherwell squad on their preseason camp in Spain suggests he could be set to sign a contract for manager Stuart McCall.
