Everton legend Peter Reid hopes they can throw off their traditional slow starts.

History showed that Everton very quickly and very successfully turned things around and Reid knows that a bright start can really shape the rest of the season.

"The last few seasons we've struggled a bit at the start and then come on strong," he told evertonfc.com. "You get a decent start and you never know what can happen.

"Nobody goes out to make a bad start. We all go out there trying to win every game but football can be funny at times."
